Andrea Fritz, LPN #14066

Certified in Advanced and Diabetic Nursing Foot Care

My name is Andrea Fritz, and I am an Advanced Footcare Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). My pronouns are She/Her. I absolutely love being a nurse. Before becoming an LPN, I worked as a CCA for five years while waiting to get into the nursing program, and I truly believe that experience made me a stronger and more compassionate nurse. I also hold a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology.

I graduated from Acadia University in 2008 and spent a few years working at local wineries, but I always knew I wanted to work in the medical field. That passion eventually led me back to NSCC—first for my CCA, and later for my LPN. During my nursing training, I learned about nursing foot care and immediately knew it was something I wanted to pursue. I went on to complete my Advanced Diabetic Footcare course through Caring Education in Halifax.

I worked on the Surgical Unit at VRH for six years while offering foot care part-time. Working in Surgical made me appreciate the importance of proper foot care even more—I saw people lose toes, feet, and legs in situations that may have been preventable with regular, skilled care. I’ve been providing foot care for six years now, and a year ago I made the decision to go out on my own full-time. One of the things I cherish most about foot care is having the time to truly talk with and connect with my clients.

Being a mom and being a nurse are two of the greatest joys in my life. I’m a proud mom to my 11-year-old son, Ethan. I grew up in Nictaux, NS, and I’ve lived on the North Mountain just outside Berwick for the past 13 years—a place I absolutely love.

I truly believe that foot care can change a person’s comfort, confidence, and quality of life. Every visit is an opportunity to prevent complications, ease pain, and support someone’s independence. Being able to provide this level of care—while taking the time to truly connect with people—means so much to me. I’m grateful every day to offer foot care through Remember When HealthCare and to support clients in feeling their best, one step at a time.

Tanisha Rafuse, LPN #14782

Certified in Advanced and Diabetic Nursing Foot Care

My name is Tanisha Rafuse, and I am a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). My pronouns are She/Her. I was born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where I still live today. Caring for others has always been something I felt drawn to, and I am grateful to have built a career that allows me to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day.

I graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing program at NSCC in 2020. Before becoming an LPN, I worked as a Personal Care Worker in long-term care beginning in 2018 while completing my nursing education. Since graduating, I have continued working in long-term care, where I have gained valuable experience supporting older adults with compassion, dignity, and respect.

In July 2026, I completed my certification in Advanced and Diabetic Nursing Foot Care. Becoming a foot care nurse has allowed me to combine my passion for nursing with preventative care that has an immediate and lasting impact on people’s daily lives. I especially enjoy seeing how professional toenail trimming, routine foot care, and diabetic foot care can improve a person’s comfort, confidence, mobility, and overall quality of life.

I chose to join Remember When HealthCare because I believe people should have the opportunity to receive quality healthcare while remaining in the comfort of their own homes whenever possible. After working in long-term care for several years, I have seen firsthand the benefits of helping people age in place and maintain their independence. Providing in-home foot care services allows me to support clients where they feel most comfortable while helping them stay active and safe.

My approach to care is centered on respect, trust, and building meaningful relationships. I believe every client deserves to be treated as an individual, not simply as a diagnosis. As a foot nurse, my goal is to help each person improve their quality of life while maintaining comfort, mobility, and independence whenever possible.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing the smile on a client’s face after treatment. When someone tells me they feel more comfortable walking, thanks me for helping them, or learns something new about caring for their feet that helps prevent future complications, I know I’ve made a positive difference. Those moments remind me why I love what I do.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family and making memories with my son. I love being outdoors, whether it’s going for walks, hiking, spending time at the beach, camping, or simply enjoying a sunny day at the park. I also enjoy curling up with my Kindle and treating myself to an iced latte whenever I can.

I truly believe healthy feet are an important part of overall health and independence. As a mobile foot care nurse, I am proud to provide compassionate, personalized foot care through Remember When HealthCare. My goal is to help every client feel more comfortable, confident, and supported—one step at a time.
